Friends of Bleecker Playground

Friends of Bleecker Playground is a community volunteer group dedicated to making Bleecker Playground and the adjoining plaza a clean, green and safe center of community life for the families and residents of the West Village.  To sustain our efforts, we are continuously recruiting and welcoming new volunteers and provide different opportunities for involvement:


Family Dance Party!!!
Come celebrate Spring with dancing (DJ Mark Flynn), free food and plenty of children's art activities provided by: The Children's Aid Society, City Treehouse, CMA, Freshmade NYC, Joffrey Ballet School, and Kids at Work NYC!!!! 

Just added: Bringintobeing free photo booth. Just in time for Mother's Day!

Planning Committee
Our planning committee is made up of a core group of volunteers who meet on the first Tuesday of every month, alternating between mornings and evenings, to plan and organize our events.  We would love to have new members join our group.

Donate to the "100 for 100" Campaign
Our goal of 100 families donating $100 (or more) to help finance our operating budget and fund park improvements was almost reached last year.  89 families donated and this year we hope to have more families donate so that we can reach our goal.  Don't forget all donations are tax deductible! 

You can help by: 

• Donating to the campaign
• Asking your friends to donate
• Sending us names and contact info of individuals or merchants who might be willing to donate

Friends of Bleecker Playground is fiscally sponsored (www.osiny.org/Issues_citizenaction_II#sponsor) by the Open Institute, Inc. (OSI)(www.osiny.org), as part of its Citizen Action Program (www.osiny.org/citizenaction).  All contributions (www.osiny.org/Issues_citizenaction_II#contributions) will be accepted by OSI on behalf of Friends of Bleecker Playground.
